Presently, our lab has three research paths: 1) macromolecular crystallization and methodology; 2) structure and function of thermophilic proteins; and 3) inflammation and chronic stress sensitivity/resiliency. The basic research focus has been growing large volume crystals for neutron diffraction and investigating the structure-based catalytic mechanism of enzymes related to phosphoryl-transfer reactions. Our recently established research path includes the utilization of immunological and molecular approaches to study proteins and nucleic acids associated with inflammation and chronic stress sensitivity/resiliency
